Tips for healthy pregnancy during monsoon!

So many peoples eagerly wait for rainy season as it helps us to get relief from intense summer heat. But the season can also make us susceptible to various infections and communicable disease. And if you are pregnant, you need to be extra careful to stay away from difficulties.

Here are some tips to have a safe pregnancy:
 

Drink clean and filtered water:
As we know that water play very important role for our body, always drink boiled and filtered water as water-borne diseases are very common in the monsoon. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, which is a common problem during pregnancy.

Wear comfortable and loose clothes:

Wear comfortable and loose clothes during monsoon season as you can sweat more than you do in summer because of the increasing humidity. The foetal stage is considered to be hypersensitive to bear the temperature fluctuations in the mother's body

Avoid street foods:

Avoid street foods during pregnancy as they can be contaminated and pose an enormous threat to the health of your baby.

Wear comfortable shoes:

Wear comfortable shoes that have an excellent grip and won't slip.

Wash and sanitise:

 Whenever you step out in the rain always wash your hands and feet after coming back home and sanitise as often as you can because rainwater mixed with sewage water and dirt can lead to infections.

Make your monsoon more enjoyable with these healthy tips!


As we know that the damp or wet condition of the season also encourages insects and pathogenic micro-organisms to spread various diseases such as dengue, malaria, typhoid, viral fever, common cold and flu, pneumonia, diarrhea and dysentery.

Here are some helpful tips which you may try to stay healthy during the rainy season:
  • Carry your monsoon essentials such as rain coat, umbrella whenever you go out to protect yourself from sudden rain fall.
  • Eat a healthy diet that contains plenty of fruits and vegetables to get all necessary nutrients your body requires.
  • Eat more foods that are rich in vitamin C as this will boost your immune system and help you stay away from common colds and flu.
  • Avoid eating street food and raw vegetables to keep infections away.
  • Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating them.
  • Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated and flush out toxins from the body. Always remember to carry a water bottle before going out.
  • Also drink green tea, herbal teas that have antioxidants and anti-bacterial properties.
  • Avoid touching your face, eyes, mouth or nose with your hands after getting wet as the virus might enter into the body through these routes.
  • Don't forget to wash your hands, feet and face whenever you go out.
  • Exercise to keep your immune system strong and avoid falling sick.
  • Keep your surroundings clean to avoid mosquito breeding.
